Author Visit 2015

Author, Ben Mikaelsen, has won the International Reading Association Award and the Western Writer's Golden Spur Award. His novels have been nominated to and have won many State Readers Choice awards. In fact, his book The Jungle of Bones, is on the South Carolina Junior Book Award Nominee list for 2015-2016. His novels Rescue Josh McGuire, Petey, and Touching Spirit Bear have been optioned for screen production. Recently, Ben was recognized in People Magazine and on Anderson Cooper's television show 360 AC for the impact his novels have had on dealing with "bullying".

Mr. Mikaelsen will be visiting Busbee-Corbett on November 20, 2015. Students in grades 3-8 will have an opportunity to attend one of the Becoming the Author of Your Life presentations and book signing events. The Corbett Book Club will be selling copies of the author's books beginning November 16 in the Corbett Library/Media Center. Touching Spirit Bear and Stranded will cost $6.49 per copy. Countdown, Ghost of Spirit Bear, and Petey will cost $7.55 per copy. This amount includes tax.
